The instruments are in excellent condition with (almost new) calfo heads, technically and visually without any defects, scratches or dents. The construction principle corresponds to that of the Viennese timpani: the shell sits on the base without a disturbing ring (like the wine glass on the stem), which creates a very free and open sound with optimal high and low tones. The advantages of the rotary timpani: – the head is played evenly and the changing impact spot plays no role due to the high quality of the mounted Kalfos – Due to the special construction, very stable tuning, even at higher volumes – very good low tones (e.g. B and F at 430 Hz) – no annoying cranks or pedals – Slight pitch corrections are possible when playing with the knee or foot – very nice Art Nouveau-like design These timpani are unique and there are only 2 pairs in the world Including 2 transport trolleys.
